The Natural, Vegan Ways to Clean Your Home

Clean Your Home for Vegan

Springtime is the best time for house cleaning. According to a san diego based house cleaning business, for the conscientious consumer, cleaning is difficult mainly because of the harsh chemicals that are in the market. These chemicals are harmful to children, pets, and the environment. They also leave the home smelling like a science lab instead of a fresh room. However, did you know that there are common, natural house products that we can use as a cleaning agent? Below are a few tips on natural vegan ways to clean your home and leave it fresh and safe for children or pets

Cleaning the Oven

When cleaning an oven, use baking soda and vinegar. Make a paste using a half a cup baking soda and a few tablespoons of water. Apply this paste in the oven and leave it overnight. For the oven racks, you can separately clean them with the same procedure. The next morning, wipe off the paste with a damp cloth and spray white vinegar. Wipe again with a damp cloth and voila! Your oven will be as good as new. But, avoid getting baking soda into the heating elements of the oven.

Cleaning the Refrigerator

Vinegar works wonders on surfaces, so you can dilute two parts of water to one part of white vinegar in a spray bottle. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to leave a fresh scent as well.  The solution works better with warm water, making the difficult dirt and food stuck on the refrigerator surfaces be removed with ease.

Cleaning the Dishwasher

Dishwashers are the most neglected item in the kitchen. Most people assume that since it’s their job to clean, they do not require cleaning. But, they definitely need to be cleaned once in a while too.

To clean dishwashers, remove the filter in the dishwasher and soak it in your favorite dish soap. Clean the filter, rinse, and replace it on the dishwasher. For the rest of the dishwasher, pour a cup of white vinegar instead of detergent and run a heavy cycle.

Cleaning the Toilet

If toilets are not cared for well, they could be a source of infection. To clean a toilet without leaving it smelling like toxic chemicals, sprinkle a cup of baking soda into the bowl. Pour in a cup of white vinegar and allow it to sit for an hour. You can do a little scrubbing before flushing the toilet.

Cleaning the Shower

Using the kitchen mix prepared when cleaning the refrigerator, spray the showerhead and wipe with a damp cloth. For heavy-duty cleaning, mix one part vinegar and one part environmentally-friendly dish soap and use it to clean

Cleaning the Mattress

Cleaning the mattress is one of the easiest cleaning routines. Sprinkle baking soda on the mattress and leave for a few hours. Some people mix a few drops of lavender oil for aromatherapy, but it is optional. After a few hours, vacuum the baking soda. This will make the fresh.

To remove stains, apply a mixture of two parts hydrogen peroxide to one part natural, environmentally-friendly dish soap and clean the stain.

Using natural vegan-friendly methods to clean your house is more efficient than using chemical-based products. When shopping for these items, be sure to check out your local store for baking soda and vinegar that is from an environmentally-friendly company to be fully sure.
